BPI-Safe Rides is a service of Bill's Place, Inc.
Tax ID No. 16-1735869

BPI-Safe Rides is part of
Safe Ride Programs United.

BPI-Safe Rides is looking for mature, dependable people over the age of 25 who are willing to volunteer their time to support our cause of getting drunk drivers off the road by being a member of a drive team on an on-call basis.

Our goal is to provide the free-ride service year-round so we need drivers who are available most Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings to transport Hall County citizens throughout the year.

This is a great way for community service organizations to get involved on a rotation basis.

Team Drivers
  • Team Drivers must be 25 or older and have a reliable, insured vehicle.
  • You can choose the days and hours you volunteer. (Teams working at night must commit to being available from 9:00PM – 2:00AM.)
  • The driver of the chase vehicle (follows behind the impaired owner’s vehicle) is responsible for returning the Volunteer Driver of the impaired driver's vehicle back to the starting location.
  • Since a person’s vehicle is his or personal space, BPI-Safe Rides needs drivers who respect our client’s space and understand how to be professional and discreet when transporting the impaired person.

Drivers Responsibility
Drivers are responsible for keeping track of mileage and documenting service times when using their privately owned  and operated vehicles (POV’s). This is important to ensure accurate data and measure outcomes over time.

Drivers must:
  • Have a clean Georgia Driver’s License record.
  • Have active insurance for their POV.
  • Be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Be 25 or older.
  • Be reliable and respectful and cooperative with law enforcement.

Compensation
All Drivers and support staff are unpaid volunteers committed to the public safety and well-being of all citizens in our community.

For additional information and to register as a volunteer, please call Vivienne Speer, BPI Executive Director, at (770) 965-2870 or send an email to info@bpi-saferides.org.
